Fresno Co. students to learn about supercars at this event

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Students from Fresno County will have the opportunity to learn about manufacturing supercars thanks to a partnership between career technical education programs and Trion Supercars.

Officials with the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of School say the CEO and founder of Trion Supercars, Richard Patterson, will attend the event and display the Trion Nemesis model that is currently in development. The model is valued at over $1.5 million, which includes CAD development, research, testing, manufacturing, surface finishings and graphic design.

Officials say the purpose of the collaborative career technical education project is to provide students with the opportunity to learn advanced technology skills to become future supercar workers in manufacturing, fabrication and engineering.

The Trion Nemesis will be housed at Career Technical Education Charter High School (CTEC) and students from all schools will develop modifications for the car, which officials say will be shown at the F-1 Race in Las Vegas in November.

CTEC partnered with the Duncan Polytechnical High School, the Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART), and Fresno State to produce the joint project with Trion Supercars. The event will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the CTEC’s Innovation Center, but this is not a public event.
