Children’s mini speakers recalled due to burn and fire hazards

(WHTM) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning consumers to stop using thousands of mini speakers for children due to burn and fire hazards.

According to the commission, the speaker’s lithium-ion battery can overheat and catch fire, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.

The recall affects about 251,165 units, as well as about 18,932 sold in Canada.

The recall includes Yoto’s “Yoto Mini” portable speakers, intended for children ages three to 12. The speakers are gray with orange controls and a pixel display. The model name is Yoto Mini, SKU PRPLXX00860, and serial number can be found on the bottom of the product.
