Zendaya Wore a Lot of Wigs at the Radio Disney Music Awards

Like any good awards ceremony host, Zendaya couldn’t settle for just one show-stopping outfit. Not only did the 18-year-old singer/dancer/shoe designer change up her clothes for her multiple onstage appearances at the Radio Disney Music Awards, the wig fan appropriately switched up her hairstyles to match.

On the red carpet, she started the night out in Peter Pilotto flared pants and matching crop top, each separately bedazzled with flower power plastic pieces. The look was taken to the next level with some sky-high—130 millimeters to be exact—bright yellow Christian Louboutin heels. Her hair was down in long, wet-look curls, bringing hippie vibes to her ‘60s-inspired getup.

Keeping the same wet curls, but going shorter and adding bangs, Zendaya jumped ahead a few decades, trying out an ‘80s working girl with a hint of hip hop-like ensemble in a bright red skirt suit set and high top sneakers.

Jumping back again to the ‘60s, the outspoken star channeled an entirely different subculture in a pink paillette dress with green straps and a black turtleneck underneath. For a Twiggy-inspired fashion moment, her blunt bang bob was appropriately on-theme.

In a custom tie-dye suit from Anthony Franco, Zendaya’s inspiration seemed to stem from a mix of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and nerds. The ROYGBV tie-dye outfit was already a lot, so the straight long wig was simple and a bit pared down.

For her necessary athleisure turn, Zendaya sported a floral bomber with white pants and accessorized with aviator glasses, just like Terry Richardson and Jennifer Aniston. She went with a wavy lob for her most casual outfit change.

Closing out the night, the young adult dressed just like a high school student would—probably because she is one—in skinny white jeans, a neon neoprene dress with white T-shirt underneath, chunky choker, hot pink lipstick, and black frame glasses. Her last wig was another lob, this time parted to the side and relaxed.

If this is the kind of fashion game Zendaya brings to awards shows out of the gate, we’ve got high hopes for the future of this up-and-comer.
