You can depend on two things from the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards: Someone will end the evening drenched in slime and the majority of the attendees will dress as though they’re preparing for that eventuality. Indeed fashion is rarely the focal point at an event that’s designed to bring out everyone’s inner child. But leave it to Zendaya to bring a little elegance to the orange carpet. Arriving in a rust-colored slip dress from her line Daya by Zendaya and a pair of La Silla suede boots, the star exuded grown-up glamour last night in Hollywood. The simplicity of her lingerie-inspired outfit allowed for a touch of maximalism via a Nirav Modi Mughal choker; the ornate diamond-covered floral piece gave the look oomph. Topping it all off with a monochromatic beauty moment—a subtle swipe of tangerine eyeshadow—she was easily the evening’s best dressed.
Zendaya certainly looked like she was enjoying the moment, too. She picked up her zeppelin-shaped trophy for Best Actress and tried out the evening’s slime-centric Snapchat filter, while mingling with friends at the show. Her relaxed ensemble was beautiful, but it also allowed for carefree fun. With her stylist Law Roach by her side, it’s no surprise that her outfit was chic. Still, with her KCA dress coming in at just $38, Zendaya proves that looking flawless at a big event doesn’t have to break the bank.
