Red alert — we’re currently obsessing over all things Betty Boop, including Zac Posen’s take on Betty Boop’s classic red dress. The 1930’s icon is getting revamped, thanks to a collaboration between Pantone, MAC and of course, Zac Posen. The designer will reveal his Betty Boop dress collection, in Pantone’s new “Betty Boop Red,” in the March issue of Marie Claire, and we’re waiting with bated breath. The reveal also coincides with MAC’s launch of their “Betty Boop Red” lipstick and a three-part animated short starring the original symbol of sass and class, Betty Boop herself, alongside Posen’s cartoon debut.

Posen’s Betty Boop dress collection will feature two signature Betty Boop Red dresses that capture the spirit of Boop and all her classic charm. The dresses will be sold on ZacPosen.com, starting on February 14th, as part of the ZAC Zac Posen line.

With Boop’s style and Posen’s signature glamour, both pieces are sure to be iconic in their own right. The dresses will be making their print debut in Marie Claire, on supermodel Crystal Renn, with prices running at $250 for the dress and $550 for the gown.

This is also Boop’s debut in the digital age, and the three-part animated short features the star wearing her namesake MAC lipstick shade. In a press release, Posen said:

“Betty Boop is the ultimate femme fatale and feminist, and it has been an exciting journey to work alongside the various partners to revamp her.”

To say we’re excited is an understatement. Finally, our dreams of looking like Betty Boop can come to fruition.

Valentine’s Day just got whole lot sweeter.
