Zac Efron Posts a Heartbreaking Goodbye to His Beloved Dog, Puppy

Zac Efron is sharing the sad news that his "best friend" has passed away.

The Neighbors actor took to Instagram and Twitter to share a scenic outdoors shot of him and the pup, along with a heartbreaking message.

"Through thick and thin you've always been my best friend. Until we meet again, RIP Puppy Efron," the High School Musical alum captioned the sweet photo of him cradling the Australian Shepherd while the puppy licks his face.

He then quoted lyrics from a Chance the Rapper tune "Finish Line," saying "Felt hog tied ever since my dog died/ He lived to 84, damn, that's a long ride/ I know he up there he just sit and he wait/ I'll be racing up the stairs I'mma get to the gate singing."

The 28-year-old actor and Puppy Efron first met back in Christmas 2011, but it wasn't until April 2012 that Efron took to Twitter to share the news that he had adopted a new best friend with an adorable photo.

Efron also has two other dogs: an Australian shepherd named Dreamer and an adopted dog named Chappelle that he adopted with his ex-girlfriend, Sami Mir?.
