Who Wore It Best: Rosamund Pike & Lena Dunham in Giambattista Valli

“I love Lena and I love Giambattista Valli but their collaboration for her pink ombré gown at the Oscars had her fading into the red carpet,” Joe Zee wrote recently. “This look needs to just fade away.” Turns out, it’s not going anywhere. Rosamund Pike, who appears on Vanity Fair’s February cover, graces its pages in the same dress.

The Gone Girl star's splayed out on an antique chair and the massive skirt positively dwarfs the piece of furniture. Her hair's whipped up in a voluminous bouffant and wearing a red pajama top.

While Dunham’s version of the outfit was paired with a pale pink top and faded from the same shade at top of the skirt to a dark red at the bottom, Pike’s is the opposite with red on top fading into the lighter hue at bottom of the exaggerated train.
