Watch the “Stranger Things” kids try to explain what happened to Barb and get as confused as the rest of us
It’s official: Of every obsession to have come out of the show Stranger Things — from fan theories about the upside down, to geeking out over the amazingly talented young cast, to just watching memes of Winona Ryder and those lights — the character of Barb just might be the biggest. Many of us have spent hours just trying (and failing) to answer one basic question: what the heck happened to her?
So we’re pretty thrilled to find out that adorable stars Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin are basically just as confused as we are about it.
LOL. The kids’ long, semi-rambling explanation goes into everything from, “Well, we didn’t really look for her because she wasn’t our friend,” to, “Maybe they’ll explain it next season, ” to, “We’re pretty sure she died, right?” (all paraphrased, of course).
Basically, their obvious uncertainty about the now-legendary character totally mimics our own, and watching them try to hash it out amongst themselves is just insanely adorable.
And even though the future is looking uncertain for Barb, the kids had this totally sweet thing to say about Shannon Purser, the actress who played her.
“We really don’t know [what happened to Barb]. We’re hoping that Shannon makes an appearance in Season 2, because we love Shannon. She’s great. Fingers crossed for Barb.”
One things for sure: WE CAN’T FREAKING WAIT FOR SEASON 2.
