Watch Christian Siriano’s Awesome Embrace of Body Diversity on the Runway: ‘People Are People’

Christian Siriano is known for celebrating body diversity, and that he did at his Fall 2017 runway show. His collection ranged from red carpet-ready gowns to lettered T-shirts and tailored pants. These looks mirrored his take on affordable and high-end fashion, having one foot in each world.

Siriano became a household name after winning the fourth season of “Project Runway” and has shown no signs of slowing down. Constantly dressing Hollywood stars for the red carpet while also collaborating with mall brands, he is able to balance luxury and attainability with ease.

With the current political climate, many designers are using their work as a form of expression. Siriano chose to express unity, with a model donning a “People Are People” T-shirt paired with a pink flowing skirt. This message lends itself to Siriano’s body diversity and inclusivity initiative and is a positive one in these tumultuous times.
