A Bride and Groom Had Their First Dance Mid-Traffic Jam

The 2016 award for “Most Constructive Use of a Traffic Jam” goes to Jeff and Rebecca Payne of Centerville, Ohio.

On Saturday, the newlyweds were on their way to their reception when a multiple-car accident shut down the highway for two hours. (One person was taken to the hospital, and no serious injuries were reported.)

But the resourceful pair decided to go ahead with their first dance out on U.S. 35, an event documented by various strangers, including videographer Levi Curby, whose footage is shown above.

“#RescueThePaynes” became the hashtag surrounding the event, with posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram commemorating the pair’s plight.

Congratulations to the Paynes! Hope the honeymoon is somewhere with less congested highways.
