Watch Betsey Johnson’s Epic Career on Screen

Kelly Osbourne, who urged the crowd to lighten up, presented Betsey Johnson with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award at the CFDAs on Monday night. There were videos for every nominee—a very solemn and romantic peek inside the Valentino atelier, a buzzing day in the life of Mickey Drexler—but Johnson’s spanned decades, starting with Paraphernalia in the 1960s, when Edie Sedgwick was her fit model, to the folks-y Alleycat days of the ‘70s, the CBGB punk years, and the ‘80s, when Madonna and Cyndi Lauper made the Betsey Johnson look ubiquitous.

You can watch the film, by Nian Fish and Natane Boudreau of N + N Films, exclusively above.
