Wait, Barack Obama is having a bromance with the Dos Equis “most interesting man?”
Wait, Barack Obama is having a bromance with the Dos Equis “most interesting man?”

Fun fact: The former Most Interesting Man in the World is BFFs with the former President of the United States. Yes, you read that right, Barack Obama is friends with the former Dos Equis spokesman and it’s too much to handle.

We’ve always been a fan of Hollywood bromances like Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, but this friendship is out of this world. It’s the former president and The Most Interesting Man in the World!

What could be cooler than that?

Thanks to Politico Magazine, this bromance has been brought to our attention and we are forever grateful.

In the magazine, they featured an excerpt from actor Jonathan Goldsmith’s (aka the Dos Equis man) memoir. Within it, the actor discusses how he met Obama and the friendship that followed.

Goldsmith’s memoir revealed that he met Obama in 2011 at a fundraiser in Vermont and was later asked to be a part of the “special surprise” for the president’s 50th birthday celebration.

Pretty cool, right?

“The first time I met President Obama, I was part of a welcoming committee in the state of Vermont, where I now live. He was just starting his second run for the presidency, and we were invited to be in a greeting line of about 200 people,” Goldsmith recalled in the Politico Magazine excerpt.

But their meet-and-greet turned into a lengthy conversation, which then turned into the President’s staff inviting Goldsmith to surprise Obama at his 50th birthday party.

The TV star then hung out with the former Pres all weekend long.

“Just as in Vermont, he seemed genuinely interested in me. He talked about the campaign and how much he really liked it,” he continued. “And I felt so comfortable with him that I called him Barack. Somehow calling him Mr. President didn’t seem right. Later, we smoked a cigar with some of the other guys. He told me I could use his personal pool.”

First name basis? Getting to use the personal pool? Okay, this is bromance we can get behind, and we definitely need to read about it way more. Just THINK of the adventures they can have now that Obama is out of office.

Until the book comes out — on June 13th — stay thirsty, my friends, and enjoy the friendship that is Goldsmith and Obama!
