This video of Sir Ian McKellen making scrambled eggs is priceless

What does Magneto slash Gandalf know about making eggs? A lot, or so he claims. During a Facebook pop-up video at Chateau Marmont, Sir Ian McKellen promises to make us the best scrambled eggs in the world. Of course, we had to watch, and here’s what we learned.

First, you take a saucepan. NOT a frying pan. Interesting… Okay, Sir Ian, you’ve got our attention.

Next, crack 3 eggs into the pan before turning on the stove. NO mixing in advance.

Add about this much half-and-half or milk:

And this much butter:

Add salt and pepper.

Turn on the heat and start stirring!

“While you’re doing this, you can listen to the radio or talk to your beloved.” Your British charm is a little too much for us to handle right now, Sir McKellen!

While you’re stirring, you can also obsess about the fabulous monochrome American flag t-shirt that he’s wearing. Just because you’re cooking, doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish.

Eventually the eggs will start to “catch” in the pan as they cook.
