Tibi, Rosie Assoulin Endorse the Single Statement Earring

Dainty jewelry has reigned supreme for the past couple of years. The more rings and earrings the better, but nearly all of them are tiny—from microscopic studs to thin gold bands to chain-link septum rings. But the tides are turning. Last season, Louis Vuitton’s single statement earrings made a splash, and so far, at New York Fashion Week, influential brands Tibi and Rosie Assoulin have followed suit.

On Saturday, Amy Smilovic accessorized her neutral, cozy Tibi collection with epic brass earrings by designer Paige Novick. Three squiggles hung from the thick gold-plated hoops—and they’re already on sale at Tibi.com. At Assoulin’s presentation on Monday, models wore giant flower earrings with their voluminous evening looks. Again, just one. You can’t buy those yet, but plenty of designers are brining back the statement earring for spring and since you just need one—you can split the cost of these Dolce & Gabbana beauties with your bestie. Or keep one of these Tory Burch hoops and gift the other. And if you want to buy just one, there’s always Urban Outfitters. Whatever you do, follow one rule when buying earrings this season: the bigger the better!
