These Are the Coolest Jeans Ever — Literally
Sometimes being trapped indoors because of the cold or snow can be great. Curling up for a Making a Murderer binge session with some warm hot chocolate — Netflix and chill (without the literal chill). But for some people, freezing temperatures are part of their winter lives and there are only so many hours of Steven Avery one can take before getting a little stir crazy. So let’s assume that’s why citizens of Minnesota, the United States’ own frozen tundra, have taken to freezing their jeans as a form of art.

Popping up on lawns in a snowy Minneapolis neighborhood, people are soaking their jeans and other articles of clothing and then artfully displaying them outside, where they quickly freeze and stand erect like statues. The trend seemingly started with Tom Grotting, 61, who admitted he does it annually to cure his neighbor Diane Roman’s winter blues, and then compelled others to partake on the community’s Facebook page. “It’s the only funny thing about this weather,” Roman told the Star Tribune. Grotting added that it’s like “a ‘Seinfeld’ episode” and he’ll keep doing it until his “family gets too embarrassed.”

As fast as a trend can spread in 12 degree weather, others have caught on as well, sharing their masterpieces on social media.
