The second term of America’s first black president is coming to an end, and BET is sending off our commander in chief in style. The network held a concert at the White House last month, called Love & Happiness: An Obama Celebration, hosted by Terrence J. and Regina Hall. On Nov. 15, BET aired the celebration, for which it called upon Janelle Monàe, Jill Scott, Usher, Common, De La Soul, and more to honor the president. By the look of things, it was a lit affair indeed.

When bae surprises you with date night at a friend’s “house.” What an honor! ????????????????

Of course, the POTUS and first lady hit up the celebration in style, with the president opting for a classic navy blue suit with a white shirt and blue tie. Michelle Obama was her usual stylish self in a black skirt with a flirty pleat in the front, and a black camisole underneath a high-neck lace piece with bell sleeves and leather detail at the neckline and cuffs. She added simple black pumps and wore her hair in loose curls. In a word, the FLOTUS looked radiant.

Between Barack’s slightly offbeat dancing and Michelle’s flawless look, the event was a friendly reminder of how much some Americans will miss the Obama years.
