As Taylor Swift announced on her Instagram Wednesday, Reputation is coming out on Friday, November 10, 2017. Friday releases are typical in music, and Swift putting her albums out in the fall (October/November) is her signature move.

But Twitter users and media outlets alike have noticed that Swift's choice of November 10th happens to also be the day of the 10th anniversary of Swift's rival, Kanye West's, mother Donda West's death. Donda passed away on November 10, 2007, from heart disease while suffering complications after cosmetic surgery.

Her death was really hard on West and continues to be. It's reportedly what triggered West's nervous breakdown last year-one that led him to being hospitalized.

It seems unlikely that Swift chose that date to get back at West though, despite their frayed relationship. (She may not even have been aware of the connection.) A source at Swift's record label tells TMZ that this is absolutely not the case, that they picked the date "based on other Universal Music Group releases. There is no correlation."

Fans also point out that November 10 just happens to have some interesting math related to 1989's release:

Swift loves her number-themed easter eggs, so it's far more probable she thought of that with her release date than getting back at anyone.
