Swap out swords for Lightsabers, and suddenly Arya and Brienne’s fight on “Game of Thrones” is even better

Game of Thrones has had its fair share of fight scenes over the course of the show. And typically it looks pretty cool when there’s an intense sword battle between strong fighters.

But why just use swords when you could use Lightsabers?

That must’ve been what was going through the head of YouTube user Omid G, who inserted Lightsabers into the below fight between Brienne and Arya. And seriously, it looks so cool.

In Game of Thrones Season 7, we’ve been lucky to witness the reunions of many characters we love. There was Arya and Sansa, then Bran with both of his sisters. More recently, Gendry and Ser Davos reunited.

Another reunion that was pretty much perfect?

Well, that was none other than the reunion of Arya and Brienne.

When Arya made her way back to Winterfell, she was ready to show off all she had learned by sparring with Brienne (who defeated The Hound, so she’s pretty good!). The sparring match is pretty damn cool, and the addition of Lightsabers makes it all the more badass and fun to watch.

Especially since Gwendoline Christie not only plays Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, but also plays Captain Phasma in Star Wars.

Watch the full video below, and make note of how the Lightsabers totally fit in and look like they’re supposed to be there! Also, can we all just be super proud of how far Arya has come as a fighter?

Christie will reprise her role as Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (in theaters December 15h). As for Brienne and Arya, let’s hope for more sparring in the future — even though they won’t actually have Lightsabers.
