The Style Evolutions of Sasha and Malia Obama

It's hard to believe Sasha and Malia Obama—the sweet little girls in brightly colored coats watching their dad get sworn in back in 2009—are now 18 and 15 and have lived in the White House for eight years. They've grown tremendously during their time as part of the first family and emerged as smart, down-to-earth girls. (Malia interned on the set of Lena Dunham's Girls, took the SATs, and revealed she'd be taking a gap year before heading to her dad's alma mater, Harvard. Sasha spent the summer working the takeout window at a Martha's Vineyard restaurant.)

They've also developed a solid sense of style, graduating from (adorable) matching overcoats and patent leather shoes to pieces by cool- teen-approved brands like Nasty Gal, ASOS, and Opening Ceremony. As we prepare to say goodbye to the first family, we look back at some the Obama sisters' most memorable looks.
