Stretch Marks, Cyberbullying, Ugly Cry Face & More: Chrissy Teigen’s Only Human

Chrissy Teigen is so real. Not your stereotypical supermodel, she’s relatable in a way that others aren’t. When she recently posted a photo of her perfectly imperfect long legs, she added yet another reason to the long list of why the 29-year-old is a role model in a real way.

1. She has stretch marks. On Instagram, she shared a photo of her crossed legs with a drink propped between them. She captioned it: “Stretchies say hi!”

2. She’s clumsy. Many models might rise to the top for their poise and grace, but Teigen’s a total klutz. After a week of cooking, the above snap showed off “bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week.”

3. She’s a top chef. Seriously, follow this girl on Instagram. If giving shoutouts to flaws and injuries wasn’t enough of a reason, she shares daily food porn of recipes she’s whipping up from Ina Garten, Martha Stewart, or her own imagination, which will be featured in her forthcoming book.

4. She even eats. Late night Waffle House visits with the Wests, burgers after awards shows, ice cream to soothe her sorrows, late-night supermarket runs to soothe munchies, and more.

5. And enjoys it without feeling guilty. She doesn’t spend hours at the gym slaving over burning off the calories she just consumed. “I work out very hard for a very brief period of time before a shoot,” she revealed in her Reddit AMA. “Maybe a week before, and then never again until the next one. (I don’t condone this, just being honest here, haha).”

6. She won’t try to fool you with enhancements. “Tried to wear butt spanx but you could see the pads through the dress so I opted out. Honestly it felt wrong tricking you,” she said of her Zuhair Murad look at the Golden Globes.

7. Sure, she’s featured in Sports Illustrated and poses professionally, but she loves a good selfie. Her mom frequently joins in on the fun.

8. Her captions are always on-point as well. “bae whatever that is,” Chrissy wrote alongside a photo of her featuring a nip-slip and her husband John Legend.

9. Supports her husband in every way and doesn’t care who knows how proud she is. Teigen openly cried when Legend accepted his Golden Globe award. It was ugly. And went viral. She didn’t care.

10. Just because she has a “don’t give a flying eff” about what you think kind of attitude, doesn’t mean she has no feelings. Tiegen was recently cyberbullied so intensely for writing something controversial she quit social media for a period of time. It was a real loss to humanity.

11. She doesn’t always get her words right (but that’s no excuse for the the cyberbullying). “There are certain things where you mess up and don’t say things in the quite the most… I’m a lot of things. I’ve never been known to be very eloquent,” Chrissy told Fashionista.com. “I’ve always been very true to my beliefs. There are certain things that I say wrong. There are certain things that I say with passion and conviction and they maybe don’t come out the right way and I think that’s very human.”

12. Empathizes with others in similar situations (sorta). “Oh Amanda [Bynes]. Get well soon please,”Chrissy tweeted. “She is a sick woman and I feel terrible for her and how we just watch her like she’s a zoo animal. We are no help.”“Maybe it’s not even her. But either way, it’s sad,” she added. “I hope she is pulling a fast one on everyone and this will be a movie in the end to show the ugly sides of fame.”
