As lovers of everything style-related, we can definitely say we’ve suffered for fashion. Standing on a long line in the heat just to get into the DVF sample sale? Sure, it’s a first world problem, but that doesn’t make the (minor) struggle any less real. But for celebrities who spend a good amount of time posing in designer threads for watchful camera lenses on the red carpet, the plight is quite different, and if you’re Sofia Vergara, also a little bloody.
The Modern Family actress and newlywed spoke to The Edit, relaying the difficulties that come with dressing her voluptuous body. “I’ve got the boobs of a stripper. They’re a 32DDD and because they’re real, they’re everywhere, so I need my dresses to have structure – and under armor,” she said. Apparently, Vergara’s undergarments are so intense, that wearing them is actually physically taxing. “There is so much going on under my dresses that I bleed at the end of award ceremonies,” she added. All that for the perfect red carpet slay.
We’re hoping she’s exaggerating about the blood, but still, we’ll be sending up a prayer for Vergara next time she hits the red carpet. May her spanx be comfortable and may she get through an awards show with nary a drop of blood in sight.
