Sara & Erin Foster of "Barely Famous" Are About to be Very Famous

“If people want to stop me on the street—any knowledge that that they like my work I’m comfortable with that. I’m not comfortable with someone being like, ‘Oh my god you’re dating a famous guy’ or, 'Oh, I don’t know what you do, but you have a lot of followers on Instagram.’ That’s not the same feeling and it would totally make me uncomfortable.”

“I was scared to be on "The OC.” I didn’t book a lot of acting jobs so I always felt like I was the worst actress. I was uncomfortable, I really didn’t find myself until later in my 20s when I was like, 'Wait what am I doing? I should be in comedy. This is weird.'”

“We wanted our show to be called "Totally Confident and Completely Insecure,” which is the name of Erin’s blog. It’s an amazing title, but it’s a mouthful. The network came up with “The Barely Famous Foster Sisters,” but that sounded too much like it was our reality show. We wanted it to sound more like comedy, so we dropped the last part.“

"We are good friends with Courtey Cox and Kate Hudson—two comedic geniuses—but we never worked with them before. I was like 'I’m going to freeze, I’m going to forget my jokes, I’m not going to know what to say,’ and they’re like the upper echelon of that field. They get paid big bucks to do what they do.”

“We have sisters that are in music or business or fashion but none of our sisters are actresses. So it was the obvious thing that we’d eventually collaborate together.”

“Not anything musical. We should and it’s pathetic, but we don’t. Sarah has one of the worst voices I’ve ever heard. I have an OK voice, I just don’t know what to do with it because I have no ability or interest to get up on stage and sing or even write a song. We don’t have music in us. Our children will be geniuses. It skips a generation…I hope.”

“I think our show takes away any little bit of envy you have for LA celebrities; it shows the dysfunction of people who live like that, how much effort goes in to something that looks so effortless and how unhappy some people are trying to fit in and working hard to be liked.”

EF: “Courtney Cox definitely intimidates me. I couldn’t believe I was actually acting in a scene with her and I kept laughing and ruining takes and she was so funny.” SF: “Kate intimidated me! She’s one of my closest friends and she’s so good; I just kept thinking: 'Oh my god she’s so good, she’s going to come up with the best stuff and I’m going to be hung out to dry.’”
