Remember Octomom? Here's what she and her kids look like now

Nadya Suleman, a.k.a The Octomom, was an average American woman who found international fame after giving birth to octuplets seven years back. On 26 January 2009, Nadya gave birth to eight babies — six boys and two girls —  by C-section at a hospital in California.

It was the first recorded incident in the world where eight babies have survived at a single birth.

Nadya and her babies became the cynosure of all eyes, but people soon started questioning her judgement, given that she was an unemployed divorcee who was living on benefits. Besides, she had six other children before the octuplets, all of them conceived via IVF. She had Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development, and was studying for the Masters when she decided to become pregnant with the octuplets.

Her decision to have more children despite lacking the resources was questioned, and her doctor, Michael Kamrava drew flak for performing such a risky procedure.

Dr. Kamrava paid dearly for his actions; the Californian Medical Board revoked his licence, after he admitted to planting 12 embryos into Nadya, who was 34 then. Once the murky truths started surfacing up, Nadya’s heroic image got tarnsished, with sympathy and admiration giving way to hatred. She started facing attacks and death threats from the people.

For Nadya as well, managing her 14 children, all the while battling financial problems, wasn’t easy. Later, in a interview, she reportedly made remarks that echoed regretting her decision.

In 2012, she acted in an adult movie titled Octomom Home Alone, for which she won an award for best celebrity video.

Nadya now lives a life away from the public eye. She has an active Instagram account, and she looks fit and fabulous for a 41-year-old who gave birth to 14 children, not to mention happy. Check out how her kids look like now.
