It's 'very, very rare' for a brand to include size 30 clothes for women

Nicolette Mason and Gabi Gregg started out as bloggers but saw a need in the curvy community they helped build and foster — and decided to fill it together. Now, the friends-turned business partners are designing clothes for women sizes 12 to 30 under the label Premme, which they recently launched.

Taking their online experiences, they’re applying lessons learned into their business practices. “We really wanted to have diversity in sizes in the models,” Mason said during theCURVYcon panel on Saturday. “We have heard for years that women want to see diversity in sizes. They want the model who they are shopping from to reflect their body types.”

Her solution? Premme shot all 15 of their first collection’s pieces on at least two models with different body type and from different ethnic backgrounds. “We know how important it is to see a mirror of yourself when you are shopping and when you are looking at media in general,” said Mason. Added Gregg, “We are always keeping diversity in mind.”
