Princess Leia and Wonder Woman Emerge as Icons in Women’s Anti-Trump Marches
Women are marching all across the country and the world today to protest the inauguration of Donald Trump, and a certain galactic princess is leading the charge. The image of Carrie Fisher, who portrayed the iconic Princess Leia in the Star Wars films and recently passed away after suffering a heart attack, has emerged as an icon in the protests.
Countless signs can be seen bearing Fisher’s image as Leia, with her iconic bun hairstyle, many of them bearing the quote: “A woman’s place is in the resistance.”

Fisher herself was not a fan of the new president, posting several tweets aimed at Trump:
