Hold on to your Infinity stones, because this is going to hurt. In a new interview, Tom HiddlestonOUR Tom Hiddleston — states that his next outing as Loki will be his last. Prepare to cry a galaxy full of tears.

Hiddleston, who is currently out talking about his AMC series, The Night Manager, had a chat with The Daily Beast about his life, and we’re very interested in all of it. Except for the part where he suggests that he’s done with Loki after Thor: Ragnarok, which means that we’ve only got one more movie with Loki in it, and we haven’t had NEARLY ENOUGH movies with Loki in it to begin with.

While talking about the upcoming 2017 movie, Hiddleston explains that, “Thor 3 will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years. I love working with Chris [Hemsworth].”

And then he drops the bombshell: “This will be my last time out of the gate.

Pause to cry.

More than likely, Thor 3 will be the last stand-alone Thor movie, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe looking to its new batch of heroes, including Doctor Strange and Black Panther. But there are still big upcoming Marvel movies, like the two-part Avengers: Infinity War which will bring ALL our heroes together.

But as for Hiddleston’s involvement in those? Don’t hold your breath. He doesn’t know if he’ll be involved in those movies, because, “[Marvel hasn’t] got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.”

So he’s not saying he’ll never pop back up as Loki, but right now, it doesn’t look promising. Cross your fingers, wish on a star, throw a thousand dollars into a wishing well, wish every time you see 11:11 on the clock, buy a field of four-leaf clovers, because we’re going to need Loki for at least another 10-20 years. Or forever. We’re cool with forever.
