Have you ever crashed a lunch table full of supermodels? We just did backstage at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show—and it was fun-slash-surreal-slash-terrifying.

The girls in question: Gigi Hadid, Devon Windsor, Rachel Hilbert, and Jacquelyn Jablonski.

The questions for the girls: Are they really that pretty in person? (Yes.) Would they be pretty without makeup? (They weren’t wearing makeup yet, so…definitely yes.) Were they actually eating anything? (Some of them.) Were they nice? (SO nice.) Did they tell you anything major? (Scroll down, read our chat, and decide for yourself!)

Yahoo Style: Gigi, did you expect your casting clip to go viral?

Gigi: I didn’t expect the clip to exist in the first place! I did the casting last year and so, you know, I really wanted to get the show this year. But I wasn’t expecting to even find out for a few days. So the fact that I got to know so quickly, and the fact that everyone saw me burst into tears—that was a little embarrassing!

Yahoo Style: What changed from last year’s casting, when you weren’t chosen, to this year’s?

Gigi: I have a great workout regimen right now. It’s boxing and ballet. And I’m focused on eating really healthy foods. But I mean, I was doing that last year, and it was working, so I just knew to keep going with it. But the big thing that held me back last year, I think, was that I was really nervous, honestly. I wouldn’t have put me in the show, either. I was shaking. I was so in my head. Honestly, I went out and called my mom after the audition, and I said, “I don’t even remember how it went.” I was so nervous that I kind of blocked it out. So I think gaining more confidence, and knowing myself for another year longer really helps when you walk into an intimidating room like that.

Yahoo Style: You’re friends with so many other girls in the show—Selena, Devon, Kendall…

Gigi: Rachel!

Rachel: Yeah, we’re friends, too!

Yahoo Style: How are you not all laughing at each other on the runway?

Gigi: Okay, in the VS Pink section yesterday in rehearsal—

Devon: We pass each other on the runway!

Gigi: I can’t even look at Devon! I can’t even look at you!

Devon: No, you should look at me! You should laugh! Sorry, I’m going to scoot into your interview for a second because this is important. Don’t be so serious up there. This is real advice right now, honestly. Don’t be so serious! Actually, we should work it out so we high five each other!

Gigi: No! Because I’ll just crack up.

Devon: No, seriously, we’re going to high five.

Gigi: Okay…

Devon: No, but I’m serious. If I’m holding my hand up, and you pass me by, and I’m like, “Oh, oh, Gigi just left me hanging on national TV,” I will be so mad at you. “Psych, Devon!” Don’t do it!

Gigi: How about this? You can try to high five me, I’ll leave you hanging, and then I’ll smile and laugh? Like, “Hey, just kidding!”

Devon: Do you know the secret to a good high five?

Gigi: Yeah, you have to lead with your elbow! I learned that in volleyball practice with my team. If you want to do a good, solid high five, you look at the other person’s elbow.

Devon: Perfect, we need to do it. We can practice. Don’t leave me hanging.

Gigi: What if I do?

Yahoo Style: Then Devon will throw her Brian Atwood heels at you.

Gigi: Great! Then we’ll become famous for the first-ever girl fight on the runway. Just kidding. [Laughing] I feel like I have to tell you “just kidding,” because I can see the headline.

Yahoo Style: Whatever! Okay, what are you doing tomorrow?

Gigi: Eating a cinnamon french toast bagel for breakfast. Have you ever had one? They’re so good. That’s all I’ve been thinking about for the past two months. I’ve brought up cinnamon french toast bagels like ten times this morning.

Devon: She has.

Gigi: I haven’t had a bagel in months, I haven’t had a burger—and if you told any of my friends that I haven’t had a burger in two months, they wouldn’t even believe you.

Yahoo Style: What’s stopping you?

Devon: Me! Kidding.

Gigi: When you set a goal for yourself, you have to really work hard for it. That’s what this show is for me. It’s been such a goal, it even made me forget bagels and burgers… at least until tomorrow!
