This Photo of a Monkey Crying Out Over Her Sick Son Is What a Mother's Love Is All About
Maybe it's because Mother's Day is coming up, or maybe it's because it's a once-in-a-lifetime shot, but this incredible photo of a monkey crying out in despair as she clutches the limp body of her sick son is touching the hearts of people around the world.
The incredible image was taken by photographer Avinash Lodhi in Jabalpur, India in April 2016. Lodhi told CountryLiving.com that the little monkey had fainted, possibly due to dehydration as it was a very hot day, leading the mother monkey to cry out in anguish.
In the photo, it seems the mother believes her son is dead, or perhaps she's terrified of him dying. Either way, the story has a happy ending, as the little fellow woke up about a minute later and everything was fine, says Lodhi. Afterwards, the mother and son scrambled away and went on with their day as though nothing had happened.
