PetSmart Recalls Dog Food Due to Metal Choking Hazard

From Good Housekeeping

Pet owners need to be on the look-out now more than ever. Last week, Evanger's recalled some dog food for containing a lethal euthanasia drug. Now PetSmart is warning the public about a potential metal choking hazard in one of its products.

After their manufacturer received complaints, the pet store chain recalled some cans of Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food with Chicken & Rice. A metal contamination affected production lot 1759338 with the UPC Code 7-3725726116-7. You can check your food by looking for the best by date of 8/5/19 on the bottom of the can. According to PetSmart, the recall doesn't include other Grreat Choice products.

Dog owners who bought the cans in stores and on PetSmart.com, Pet360.com and PetFoodDirect.com between October 10, 2016 and February 7, 2017 should be aware. While PetSmart doesn't know of any injuries yet, it's important to return the cans right away. Anyone with a dog knows they'll gulp up food without noticing something that doesn't belong - except for medicine, of course!
