After a royal tour filled with high-highs (checking out helicopters in Hamburg) and low-lows (having to get off the plane in Prague) for Prince George, Kensington Palace is celebrating the young royal's upcoming birthday with an adorable new photograph.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said they were "delighted" to share the image, which was taken inside Kensington Palace by royal photographer Chris Jackson, and features the soon-to-be four-year-old with a big, open-mouthed smile.

"The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this lovely picture as they celebrate Prince George's fourth birthday, and would like to thank everyone for all of the kind messages they have received," Kensington Palace said in a statement.

"I'm thrilled and honoured that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen to release this portrait to celebrate Prince George's fourth birthday," Jackson said of the photo.

"He is such a happy little boy and certainly injects some fun into a photoshoot."

According to ABC News, the royal family will celebrate George's birthday on Saturday in the U.K.
