Nina Dobrev’s Note About Best Friend Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich Will Make You Believe in True Love
Following Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich’s wedding this weekend, the bride’s best friend (and one of the bridesmaids) Nina Dobrev took to Instagram to publicly celebrate the newlyweds on Friday, July 14.
Dobrev shared a clip of Hough’s first look with Laich. In it, the groom nearly drops to his knees when he sees Hough for the first time on their wedding day. “MY BEST FRIEND IS A MARRIED WOMAN!” the Vampire Diaries actress wrote. “I have been trying to contain my excitement, but I’m thrilled that I can finally share a few magical moments from her beyond beautiful (to dream and die for) wedding. I knew that her cheeks would hurt the next day because she was grinning so wide all day. And they did. Julianne’s smile never faded, not for a single second. That’s because she was marrying the man of her dreams, undoubtedly her soul mate.”

Dobrev and Hough were introduced to each other years ago through celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri, who shared a sweet message about the couple’s wedding this week. “She’s like, ‘You guys have to meet,’” Hough previously told E! News. “We’ve just been like joined—connected at the hip.”
In December 2013, Hough met Laich through a mutual friend. The timing couldn’t have been more impeccable: Hough had just returned from a week-long seminar about charting her destiny. “The next day my Curve co-star introduced us,” she said in a 2014 interview with Redbook. “It couldn’t have been a better time. We’ve been open and honest from day one.”
After a year and a half of dating, the pair got engaged in August 2015. The couple’s friends and family members have been the biggest supporters of the relationship since its inception–Dobrev included.
“As one of her best friends, I can safely say that Brooks has from day one always had all of our stamps of approval,” the actress continued in her post. “A fellow Canadian with a heart of gold, he is the real deal. He’s the kind of strong man Julianne needed in her life. He balances her in the best way possible and brings out the best in her. Around Brooks, Julianne became the best version of herself and I’ve never seen her happier. I have also never seen a man look at a woman the way Brooks looks at Julianne, nor have I seen a man more excited to marry someone! He knows he has a special human by his side, and he doesn’t take it for granted. Not one little bit.”

Dobrev concluded the post on a sentimental note. “You’re both so lucky to have found one another,” she said. “I love you dearly, and I’m honored to have had the pleasure of being your bridesmaid, Jules. I’m so happy I could be a part of celebrating your special day, and couldn’t be happier that you’re MARRIED. #TrueLove.”
Hough and Laich married on July 8 in Northern Idaho. Dobrev, meanwhile, made headlines after displaying some PDA in the photo booth with reported new boyfriend Glen Powell.
