Lovato’s official birthday was yesterday, August 20th, and she turned 25. And if you’re curious as to how long she’s been friends with Jonas, you’ll be surprised to know that their friendship dates back to their Disney days. Both Lovato and Jonas got their start on Disney Channel shows and kept their friendship afloat.
“You’d think they’re siblings, sometimes more than Nick and I,” Joe Jonas said about the pair to Billboard magazine last year.
Those years together definitely explains why this birthday message was so personal.

Nick Jonas used two photos of the pair to illustrate his well-wishes — one from back in the day from their Disney Channel movie Camp Rock. The other is a bit more recent.
“I admire you so much and am so grateful to have you in my life,” he wrote, noting that he wished he could celebrate the day in person.
