Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alums Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo will not be walking in the Paris show on Wednesday, but they have good reasons: new babies! Prinsloo gave birth to her daughter Dusty Rose in September, and Swanepoel welcomed baby boy Anacã shortly after in October. With two newborns in their arms, it’s totally understandable that they won’t be strutting their stuff in lingerie just yet.
However, that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten what time of year it is. Angels including Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid boarded a plane for the Paris show yesterday. Both Prinsloo and Swanepoel wished their fellow Angels luck on Instagram.
“Goodluck in paris beautiful ladies!” Swanepoel wrote. “So sad to be missing this show! No doubt it will be magical,” the blonde beauty added. She can’t help but feel a little FOMO. “So hard for me to disappoint the people that always root for me, I wish I was there making you all proud.” Swanepoel promises she will be there next year. “Girls, enjoy the moments together, cant wait to see the show and Can’t wait for vsfs2017!”
Prinsloo used her post to reminisce a little. “Opening the #vsfashionshow for the first time was a dream come true opening twice in a row was just NUTS, still pinching myself,” Mrs. Levine wrote. “To the girls and crew, good luck in Paris, me and Dusty Rose will be cheering. I know the blood sweat and tears that goes into the making of this show and also being in it, this would have been my 10th year ???? I can’t believe it.” Don’t worry, Prinsloo will be back next year, as well. “Love you all, have fun in Paris and see you next year!!!!”
Somehow, most VS models can’t stay away from the runway that long. In 2012, Adriana Lima hit the runway two months after having her second child. In 2009, VS goddess Heidi Klum returned to the runway six weeks after the birth of her fourth child, Lou Samuel. Doutzen Kroes flaunted her toned abs in the show only four months after the birth of her second child in 2014. Even more nuts? Alessandra Ambrosio was almost two months pregnant when she walked the show in 2011.
Like Prinsloo and Swanepoel, Karolina Kurkova gave herself some time, waiting almost a year before returning to the runway after having a baby in 2009.
See these beauties yourself when the show airs December 5 at 10 p.m. ET.
