Pretend, for a moment, that you are Natasha Lyonne going to your first-ever Golden Globes. You put on a dress (Reem Acra— “going with something classy, you know?”). You get out the shimmery eye shadow. And you prepare for your big brush with George Clooney—yes?

Well, maybe not.

"Clooney is lovely," said Orange is the New Black actress on the red carpet, “but my problem with him is, so many people want to meet him, so it’s not as… he’s not as interesting to me, I guess. While I love George Clooney, I really love the underdog. I’m gonna want the lesser known guy lurking in the corner.”

Our recommendation: find Ellar Coltrane, the dreamy-moody teen star of Boyhood.  Nobody famous has dated him yet… we don’t think.

Lyonne’s costar Laura Prepon wasn’t interested in Cecil B. Demille winners or up-and-coming talent. She was here to tell us about her best beauty hacks— some of which she learned at the fictional prison, where inmates create their own hair dye and artisanal soaps with the worst possible ingredients.

"I’m not gonna lie," she says, "I may have used Sharpie to do my eyeliner at one point… at a few points… because it’s all about the black eyeliner. It’s all about it. I’ve used a spoon, too, to curl my eyelashes, because I didn’t have an eyelash curler! It really works.”

Good news, Ms. Prepon: There are two spoons at every Golden Globes place setting—one for dessert and one for tea—so your red carpet beauty look is totally safe for the night.
