M&S has accidentally created yet another It item
Despite their best efforts, M&S is still seen as somewhat of an ‘older person’s brand’. Yet another one of their designs has become the It item of the season.
This affordable flute-sleeved jumper has been seen on all the top style bloggers who have been praising the knit for its wearability factor. Costing a mere £35, the style comes in grey or pink (though grey is by far the most popular).
It’s not the first time Marks and Spencer have caused fashion chaos. Their £199 suede skirt was hailed as the must-have purchase of summer 2015 after both Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo were spotted wearing it.
That particular style sold out several times so best be quick if you want the jumper this time round.
The high street brand has also seen an uptake in sales after partnering with style maven Alexa Chung on a sell-out (yet still purse-friendly collaboration). The model, presenter and fashion icon bases each collection on pieces from the brand’s archive, proving that M&S does have style somewhere in its blood.
It’s a collaboration they desperately need to keep hold of if struggling sales figures are anything to go by. However, the brand recently reported its first increase in clothing sales at Christmas after six years thanks to focusing on classic styles rather than setting trends.
It seems M&S sets some trends without even meaning to.
