A glowing and expectant Kerry Washington rocked a cutout dress on the Emmy’s red carpet and we aren’t surprised that her Instagram pic is the most liked celebrity post from the evening. Yep, according to CrowdTangle, Kerry’s red carpet image was the most liked Instagram post shared by a celebrity.
With her big, perfectly messy curls styled by Takisha Sturdivant-Drew flowing over her shoulders, the 39-year-old Scandal star stood out like a supreme being.
Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Television Movie, she may have lost that award to Sarah Paulson, but she proudly went home with the award for most role-modely role model of all amazing women. We love the way the Brandon Maxwell gown accents her baby bump and the long cape compliments the slimming gown.

Of her hair, Sturdivant Drew told US Weekly that her inspiration was Washington’s baby bump. “I still wanted to keep her look modern and fresh even though she’s expecting. I really wanted the hair to stand out — that’s why I styled it with a lot of texture but still show her face with a middle part.” It’s the perfect ‘do for a mom because it looks appropriately natural and low-maintenance while being super, super glam. Like, when we’re preggo, we can totally rock a look like this. Right?? Right.
Washington, mom of Isabelle, 2, with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, is currently filming the sixth season of Scandal (yess!), and stars as the brave and inspirational Anita Hill in Confirmation.
