Mini Cindy Crawford, AKA Kaia Gerber, Makes Her ‘Vogue’ and ‘CR Fashion Book’ Debuts

Looking exactly like Cindy Crawford — and having access to her impressive Rolodex — certainly has its perks.
Kaia Gerber, the supermodel’s lookalike 13-year-old daughter with husband Rande Gerber, has officially landed both her first major modeling contract and fashion editorial… in the same day.
The teen, who has previously appeared in ads for Versace’s kids’ line in 2012 and, later, in Teen Vogue, was photographed by iconic photographer Steven Meisel (with makeup by the equally as legendary Pat McGrath) for the newest issue of Vogue Italia. According to Gerber, herself, the experience was “UNREAL.” And, wearing menswear-inspired looks and a mohair leopard print coat, she truly is the spitting image of her mother. Genes are crazy, man.

Despite Gerber’s young age (she’s three years younger than Vogue Italia’s approved youngest age for models, 16), her appearance in the glossy isn’t cause for concern: The issue, which is dedicated to the topic of ‘age,’ features women young and old, including Stockard Channing, Jan de Villeneuve, and Frankie Rayder.
Additionally, Gerber was announced on Wednesday as the latest model to sign with IMG — the same high-powered agency that reps Kate Moss, Karlie Kloss, and Joan Smalls. It’s certainly nothing to sniff at.
Gerber is currently listed under the agency’s ‘Girls’ roster — after all, she’s just bat mitzvah aged — but if her work ethic and level of ambition is anything like Crawford’s, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see her moving into the modeling big leagues in a few years’ time.

Further proving that Gerber’s star is fast on the rise? Not even a week after her first round of exciting career news, we’ve got more: a new spread shot by Bruce Weber in Issue 7 of CR Fashion Book.
“Kaia signing a contract with a model agency is a big deal—beauty runs in their blood, Presley’s even got Cindy’s same mole on the cheek!!” said Carine Roitfeld, the glossy’s editor in chief and namesake. “But I wanted to focus on both the kids, the daughter Kaia and the brother Presley. To me, that makes the full story more interesting.”
Roitfeld relates Gerber’s likeness with her mother to hers with her own kids: “It is just like how people talk about my daughter Julia and me for example, saying we look alike, but it’s more interesting to me when you look at her and my son Vladimir together. I like the idea of the brother and sister duo born with fashion in their blood. We never know if [Kaia and Presley] will end up in fashion at the end…, but this story is proof that the apple never falls very far from the tree.“
