We already know that black is super chic! Give us a little black dress, black booties, black stockings, or a chic black coat and we will be ready to battle any type of element. So of course we couldn’t contain our excitement when we saw Busy Phillips and Michelle Williams at the Manchester by the Sea screening rocking black dresses. Can you say BFF #Goals or what?

The pair were pictured at the Crosby Hotel in New York City, for the special screening of “Manchester by the Sea,” which was presented by Louis Vuitton. Williams was pulling double duty on the red carpet being a style star and the actual star of the movie. In our minds we would love to imagine that besties Williams and Phillips planned their outfits before the event. Are besties truly besties, until they are on the phone coordinating their looks?!

Williams kept her look super understated to let her Louis Vuitton frock steal the show. We love the fit of the dress because not only will the looseness make you comfortable during holiday parties, but it allows you to move around without worrying about a outfit mishap. But fret not because the sheer bits makes this number sexy, but in the most subtle way possible. She rounds off the outfit with a simple pair of open toed, black heels and rosy makeup. If you want to up the anti with this look you could rock a vampy lipstick and killer pair of heels.

Although we are so obsessed with Michelle Williams style, during a Vogue Magazine interview, she expressed that she is most comfortable in flannel.

“I recently had to make a return to an online order that I had made because I realized I had gotten too comfortable,” she explained and then added, “I overdosed on flannel. It showed up and even my mother said, ‘You have to send that back, you are still a young woman.’”

“I’m really lucky because I have a relationship with a brand [Louis Vuitton] and a designer and Nicolas [Ghesquière] is a great friend and even better designer so there’s a certain kind of comfort and known quality to what we work on and what we come up with together for me to wear,” she explains. It takes a lot of the nervousness out of the process [if] you’re working with people you know so well,” she continued. “It’s now a three-year relationship, they’re my friends, they’re on my Christmas-card list!”

We are loving Busy Phillips semi punk look! She kept her look understated with a turtleneck and embroidered skirt, but it is her accessories that really shine. We are not sure if her boots are Doc Martens, even though they do look like them, but we love that she chose to wear boots instead of heels. She finished out the look with a red patterned clutch, long necklace and smoky makeup.

According to Indiewire, “Manchester By The Sea” stars Casey Affleck as Lee Chandler. He is a high school janitor that heads back to his New England hometown to take care of his deceased brother’s 16-year-old son (Lucas Hedges). Michelle Williams co-stars alongside Affleck as his estranged wife.

So not only is Michelle Williams best friend and style goals, but we are thinking that in the New Year we will be yelling Oscar #goals.
