#MFW: Versace's Bright Take On Sex Appeal

There were rumors that Madonna was going to be at the Versace show tonight, and although the rumors proved to be untrue, the show kicked off with the same level of energy as if her Madgesty had been present. After all, that other power blonde, Donatella has all the starpower and rock n’ roll attitude needed for a rolicking good time. The show had everything we wanted; loads of sex appeal, legs for days, and all the glitz and glamour we could handle. Here are the most killer pieces for Fall.

It wouldn’t be a Versace collection without a bit of skin, and although this collection was more conservative than previous Versace offerings, there was still plenty of sexy moments to go around. The thin slits in dresses and suits were provocative enough without being indecent, and there’s something about the slits in the trouser pants that reminds me of my favorite pair of jeans whose knees are all worn out after a decade of use. Having that same sense of comfort while wearing a suit seems like a total win/win situation.

Monster furs have been making their rounds in the runways this season, and this green version, preferably worn with nothing underneath for maximum impact, might be the sexiest and funnest version yet.

Red and yellow figured prominently in the collection, and there’s no better way to wear a bright color than to wear it head-to-toe; we’re talking glasses, coats, and over-the-knee boots that completely obscure the legs. Sure, an all-yellow look might draw comparisons to Big Bird, but he just never looked this good in yellow (sorry BB!).

And speaking of sunglasses, let’s take a look at this oversized pair with matching tinted lenses. You could throw these on as you leave your house in jeans and sweatpants and would still look insanely chic.

Of course, if you’re going to wear a sweatshirt, you may as well make it Versace. Worn over a brightly colored turtleneck, it’s casual luxury at its finest. Or lazy luxury, whatever. What I want to know is, when can I get mine?

Lazy luxury is also not caring at all if your bra is showing, because you are wearing a Versace bra with the house’s signature motif in a contrasting bright color. For everyone who grew up rocking the bedazzled bra-straps Gwen Stefani-style, this is how you do it as a grownup.
