“Media Makes My Boring Life Interesting”: Salman Khan

Salman Khan is at the 15th edition of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. Narendra Modi made the inaugural address whilst the some of the other speakers at the Summit are former US president Barack Obama and Afghanistan CEO Abdullah Abdullah.

While taking a dig at the media he said that whenever he speaks, he creates a lot of employment for people. In a conversation with the editor-in-chief, Shekhar Gupta, Salman went on to say, “Media is leaving Bollywood behind in screaming. In Bollywood, one person screams, in media everyone is doing that.”

Khan also opined about the Weinstein scandal saying, “The most disgusting thing on this planet is to exploit somebody to get them work.” He took a stand on the Padmavati row as well. Salman Khan said, "It is not fair to protest without seeing a film. Everyone has to respect the Censor Board and the Supreme Court and abide by whatever decision they take."

When probed about the ‘casting couch’ in Bollywood, he said, “I have never come across or heard of such an incident. But if I ever hear of it, I will take that person to the 'cleaners'.”
