‘Married At First Sight’ Couple Split

It turns out that the one success story to come out of ‘Married At First Sight’ isn’t quite as successful as we’d hoped it would be.

As reported in December, Emma Rathbone and James Ord-Hume have split, and now they’ve spoken to Bella magazine about what went wrong.

The two were initially unsure whether there was a romantic connection between them, but decided to give married life a go.

However, after giving things their ‘best shot’, they chose to end their 34-week marriage in November last year.

Emma told Bella magazine: “We really did want it to work. We gave it our best shot.”

James explained that he ended things, saying: “I told her I wasn’t in love with her and I felt we needed to draw a line under things.”

Emma added that though it was ‘very sad’, it was actually ‘quite a relief’, admitting: “I really thought meeting the way we did meant we stood a chance, as nothing else I’d tried had.”

It’s not all bad news though, as they remain friends and, as James admitted, they split before they could harbour bad feelings towards each other.

Emma agreed, adding: “We like and respect each other too much to let it get that bad.”
