Malia Obama Translating All the Dad Jokes in Cuba
Currently, President Obama is in Cuba, marking the first time a sitting U.S. president has visited the country in 90 years. His daughter, high school senior Malia, is with him-though her history-making spring break isn't a completely work-free vacation. Malia is serving as her father's Spanish translator. White House photographer Pete Souza captured her in action Sunday:
Malia is very needed, Barack explained to ABC News: "You know, her Spanish is much better than mine, and I'm hoping that she has a chance to get entirely fluent...My vocabulary is the equivalent of a two-year-old's," he joked. "It's one of those things I've always said to myself that I'm gonna take care of. But...it turned out that, during the presidency, I didn't have time to take Spanish lessons." Thankfully, his daughter did...and does not appear to be charging for her services!
