Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira Throw the Themed Party of the Year

Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira just proved they know how to throw a themed birthday bash. After becoming best friends during their Broadway stint in Eclipsed, it was only appropriate to join birthday forces. The now-Black Panther costars collaborated their winter birthdays into one colossal Coming to America themed party for their 34^th and 39^th celebrations, respectively.

Inspired by the looks of the 80's classic starring Eddie Murphy, the A-list guest list came to dance in traditional African prints and chronicled the celebration on Instagram. Lupita posted pictures on Instagram throughout the night of their "joint birthday shenanigans," surrounded by cast members that love Coming to America as much as they do.

Fellow Black Panther star Winston Duke supported the leading ladies of the night and posed with guest Janelle Monae.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther hits the big screen February 2018, also starring Angela Bassett, Sterling K. Brown, Martin Freeman and Letitia Wright.
