The latest “Game of Thrones” Season 7 trailer might be the most depressing one yet

While we’re pretty excited that winter is coming, want to know who’s less than thrilled about it? Well, just to name a few: Jon Snow, Arya, Sansa, Cersei, Jaime, Dany, Tyrion, Yara, Tyrion, Grey Worm….and the list goes on. HBO dropped a brand new Game of Thrones trailer for the upcoming penultimate season and everyone looks pretty bummed. Listen, we get it.

The trailer opens with a pretty bleak shot of Sansa walking though Winterfell. She appears to be by the tree where she #FriendZoned Littlefinger last season and we actually hear his voice — as if it’s in Sansa’s mind. He’s telling her to “don’t fight in the North, or the South. Fight every battle, everywhere, always, in your mind.” If that isn’t ominous as hell, we’re not sure what is.

And from there, things only seem to get worse, as we’re treated to quick shots of all our favorites looking at things sadly, clearly contemplating their life and how they got to this exact moment. What did they do to bring themselves into the middle of the Great War?

Out of all our returning Game of Thrones favorites, Jon looks the most upset, and you would be, too, if you were kinda forced to take over rule of the North, and the White Walkers are coming, and also you’re probably the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Jon Snow has seen better days (but his ice-covered hair is still looking

, because Winterfell priorities).

But for all the ice ❄️in this trailer, there’s just as much fire

. Not everyone is going to make it out of this war in one piece, so hold your favorite direwolf tight. The new season of Game of Thrones kicks off in July 17th.
