Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson Said Something Pretty Surprising About 'Twilight'
You could be forgiven for thinking that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson sorta-kinda hate the Twilight franchise.
Somewhere between the countless interviews discussing the horrible intrusion of their privacy from press and fans alike (both when they were together, during their break up and when they were with new partners), and both actors' moves to much less commercially-driven films, we started thinking the same thing.
However, both Stewart and Pattinson have actually said some pretty positive things about their time as sexually frustrated vampires, Bella and Edward.
On Monday evening 27 year-old Stewart was caught outside the Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit by E! News and asked what she thought about Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 release date being five years ago.
She told them, 'I didn't realise that it was five years, that's trippy.'
She continued, 'Every part that I've ever played has shaped me in such a significant way...I know from an outsider's perspective you might have something to say about that like in general. But I kind of view it as every other thing that I've invested in and really loved. And I'm lucky to have had that experience.'
Considering she got a major relationship, a great platform and a whole load of dosh from the project, we guess she was lucky too. But does she ever think deeper about each film she works on? 'I never really look back at my life and go, "What did that mean?"' Stewart shared. 'I got a lot from it and it's made me who I am.'
And, it turns out R-Patz feels something similar. In an interview with Time Out, the 31 year-old said of both franchises he was a part of, Harry Potter and Twilight: 'I love those movies and everyone wants those parts.'
When asked whether his relationship with his undead role has changed over time, he responded in typical Pattinson style, explaining:
'I mean, kind of. I feel like I've always had the same answer. It was fun and it's not like I signed up on an eight-picture deal, I knew it was finite. I had to be 17, there were only four books and there weren't going to be any more. The only time it felt negative was when people were waiting outside my house a few years ago.' He concluded, ' It was so nice to be a part of it. That, more than anything, changed my life.'
We'll take that as an admission from the couple that Twilight is, in fact, the best thing that has ever happened, ever. Kind of.
