Kim Kardashian’s surrogate is reportedly three months pregnant

Kim Kardashian has never been shy about documenting her fertility struggles or her dream to expand her family. After her high-risk pregnancies with North and Saint, Kim has been transparent about her interest in surrogacy if she decided to have another child.

According to a report by Us Weekly, it seems Kim and Kanye West have already found a surrogate.

A source tells the mag that the Wests’ surrogate is three months along and is due January 2018. The couple reportedly went through an agency, where they found the San Diego woman who would carry their third child. The surrogate is a mom of her own and has even served as a surrogate before. According to TMZ, the Wests will reportedly pay her $45,000. Feels low, but that is the standard rate through the agency. In the event of twins or triplets, as sometimes happens with IVF, the surrogate will be paid more.

In the last year, Kim had been considering surrogacy due to her struggle with placenta accreta during both her pregnancies. Placenta accreta is a life-threatening condition in which the placenta is not expelled from the uterus at birth.

“My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails,” Kim shared on her website. “My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that — it was the most painful experience of my life!”

After having Saint, Kim revealed during an April episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that she and Kanye were trying for a third but that her doctors advised her against it.

With her difficult pregnancies and fears about conceiving again, we’re just happy Kim has found a solution to expand her family.
