When School of Rock charmed audiences 13 years ago, it introduced us to an insanely talented cast of child rock star students that we still love today. And one of Mr. Schneebly/Dewey’s/Jack Black’s coolest students?

Well, Katie the bassist, OBVIOUSLY.

As the lone girl in the band (not including the fabulous back-up singers), Katie was the enigmatic icon we all wished we could’ve been when we were 11.

“Cello! You’ve got a bass!”

But it’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen young Katie (played in real life by talented musician Rebecca Julia Brown) and well, she’s still rocking-out. And not just as a bassist…

Girl knows how to kill it on stage leading a band.

And check out her (really good) cover of ’90s hit song “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit (YEAH).

She’s even been writing her own music…with an important message!

Entitled “Sorry,” this song may sound super quirky cute, but the lyrics actually have a really serious and important message that highlights many struggles women face.

It largely revolves around her saying “sorry” for situations that women should never be sorry for.

And despite it’s ~cutesy~ sound Becca wants to remind you it’s presented as a satire.

And frankly, we’re loving Becca using her talents to get an important message out.

Rock star forever…
