“Do You Shop At Net-A-Porter?” Jerry Seinfeld Knows What Julia Louis-Dreyfus Likes

Seinfeld may have ended 17 years ago, but the bonds that Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer formed have lasted a lifetime. When the new episode of Jerry’s other show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, with guest Julia Louis-Dreyfus finally hit the web earlier this week, there was a collective click noise heard around the world (wide web). What would these two old pals have to say to each other?

Well it’s not so much what they have to say to each other as it is what they have to laugh about. It seems that the 10 years they spent together filming the show gave them telepathic abilities. But beneath all the old memories and odd celebrity-run ins (hey, Hilary Swank!), we were most surprised when Seinfeld asked Louis-Dreyfus, “Don’t you like to shop on the Internet, do you go on Net-A-Porter?,” to which she sheepishly responded yes by making a weird “uh-oh i got caught” grin. “All you good-taste girls love that website!” Seinfeld responded. (Is Natalie Massenet paying for this product placement?)

“I love it!,” Louis-Dreyfus finally proclaims, until she catches herself, “except, ask (your wife) this question for me…” she starts, and she gets very serious, “they send me a thing (meaning the e-blast), and I click on it, and it already says sold out!” We’ve noticed this too, and we always ask ourselves: how is that possible?! Seinfeld dutifully gets on the phone with his wife, Jessica, and then we hear the magic words, “Do you get the VIP preview?” Louis-Dreyfus looks stunned.

“Aww, See?” she responds dejected.

How is it possible that Net-A-Porter offers a VIP preview and has not extended it to Louis-Dreyfus? Frankly, we are appalled! This behavior should not stand. Louis-Dreyfus is an American comedy icon — and furthermore — a FASHION icon, as her Elaine costumes inspired a whole subset of Williamsburg hipster dressing, a sort of proto-Normcore look before Normcore existed.

So we can only hope that after this episode Louis-Dreyfus never has to see “SOLD OUT” under an item she wants to buy. As for Seinfeld, well, now we know where his recent fashion influx is coming from. Whether you’re a millionaire or not, the truth is that no one doesn’t like browsing through Net-a-Porter aimlessly late at night. It’s relaxing! We wonder what item he will be carrying next. Will it be the classic understated Hunting 9 bag by The Row, or will he express his well-documented love for cereal with an Anya Hindmarch bag emblazoned with a portrait of Tony the Tiger? Either way, it’s grrrreat!
