Actress Jennifer Lawrence turned heads at the Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration in Los Angeles last night, and by pure happenstance, was dressed in Oscar de la Renta. The 24-year-old – who presented an honorary award to Hunger Games co-star Elizabeth Banks – wore a white, long-sleeved lace dress and black belt styled with black strappy Christian Louboutins and red lips.

Similarly, American Horror Story’s Sarah Paulson paid an unknowing tribute to the designer. The actress wore a dress from what is now considered his last collection. Paulson could not have paid a better tribute to de la Renta’s one-of-a-kind piece – comprised of ivory organza, painted flowers, and ostrich feathers – as she let the dress take the stage pairing it with simple black pumps. According to sources, news hit of the designer’s death just as the women were approaching the red carpet. One thing is for certain: Oscar de la Renta’s spirit pervaded the event and his legacy will continue to live on with the many lives he touched – especially the lives of the women in Hollywood.
