Jason Wu Picks Up Where Chanel Left Off

This season’s runaway accessories hit was undoubtedly Chanel’s low-heeled slingback. It was the only shoe Karl Lagerfeld showed on the AW15 runway, and (probably) the only shoe that sold out before it even hit shelves. It was practical, comfortable, guaranteed to match everything in your closet and nearly impossible to get your hands on. Lucikly, Jason Wu’s offering something just as perfect for pre-fall.

Wu might conjure thoughts of glitzy gowns and feminine silhouettes, but for next summer, he’s feeling the sensible shoe. “I used to love a high stiletto but now I am into a lower and more sensible heel,” says the designer. It might be lower, but it does feature a gold heel and pony skin, so it’s not too sensible. It certainly can’t survive New York City’s winter weather or punishing concrete pavement, but when this collection hits stores at the start of summer, it’ll be the answer to everyone’s fashion prayers.
